This 2000 split level house had the entire upstairs remodeled due to the derecho. To open it up, a wall going up the stairs and pantry were eliminated. A cable railing and wide planked white oak flooring makes the room look much larger. White inset cabinetry on the perimeter and a large painted island offers abundant storage. The white marble countertop on the island conceals a pop up TV. Space from the coat closet was used to enlarge the hall bath, which has a deep soaking tub with tile surround. A collapsed ceiling in one of the bedrooms was the (unintentional) inspiration to turn it into a master walk in closet. The existing closet became a large dual shower, to create a luxury master bath.

• White inset perimeter with large painted island • Quartzite perimeter and marble island countertops • White oak flooring; Cable railing • Custom tile work; Huge master custom closet
