Project Description

This home was built in partnership between the Cedar Valley Habitat for Humanity and Greater Cedar Rapids Housing & Building Association through the Students Building Community Internship. The program aims to develop future construction professionals by giving high school students an opportunity to experience a variety of trades and connect to housing & building professionals. For the 2023-2024 school year, 6 local high school students received hands-on experience building a Habitat home from start to finish. The students were also provided high school internship credits through Kirkwood Workplace Learning Connection.
